SALE Greiner's Patented Doll Head with 1858 Label

Excellent, superior quality papier mache doll head, 6" high and 6" across the shoulders, with molded black hair and exceptional painted features.

Face has painted shaded deep ocean blue eyes with black iris outlines, black pupils, and painted upper lashes, black upper lash lines, red eye corner and nostril accents, and shaded lips.

Black hair is well modeled with lots of comb marks.

The shoulder plate is deep and sloping. The back plate has the original and completely in tact label which reads: "GREINER'S // PATENT HEADS. // No 5. // Pat. March 30th '58."

Head is of superior quality and is in good condition as shown. There is very minor crazing on the shoulder plate and paint wear to the high spots of the hair, the nose, and chin. Black light inspection revealed no re-paint or touch-up.

This would make a doll about 24" tall when mounted on the correct body. When properly dressed, this size doll with no re-paint would be valued at about $1500.
